WORLD POPULATION BALANCE

Skip site map

World Population Balance members come from both sides of the political aisle as well as from various sides of other issues. For example, many members are strongly pro-life and others are pro-choice. We respectfully agree to disagree about the very difficult issue of abortion in order to focus time and energy upon population stabilization.

We realize that God has given us the responsibility to be good stewards of the Earth. People need to come together as a global community to bring about stabilization in a humane and intelligent manner.

Our Missionspinning globe

World Population Balance is dedicated to raising awareness about the benefits of population stabilization. Some Americans are knowledgeable and concerned about population growth. At the other end are some who disbelieve the facts. However, it is our experience that most people have no factual awareness of the seriousness and magnitude of the issue. We are primarily interested in educating these tens of millions who lack basic understanding of the facts. We present our message through public programs and conferences, appointments with elected officials, written articles, our Web site and newsletter, and TV, radio and newspaper interviews.

Members of the World Population Balance Board of Advisors include: Dr. Norman Borlaug, Nobel Peace laureate and "father" of The Green Revolution; Sister Mary Zirbes, retired from the Office of Social Justice of the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota; and Dr. Tom Hale, medical missionary in Nepal since 1970.

World Population Balance hosts or co-hosts conferences and other events that feature internationally known experts on the population stabilization issue. These events are open to the public and document the critical issues of continuing, rapid population growth -- coupled with declines in key resources -- throughout much of the planet.

Believing strongly in democracy and individual freedom, members of World Population Balance oppose any coercive population control measures.
